Spirit of Math Contest — Australia

The International Spirit of Math® Contest in Australia is organised by Russian School of Western Australia, the official country representative. It is open to ALL students in Grades 1–8 — whether or not they study at Spirit of Math®.

Students write at their own school — no travel needed — and every writer receives a certificate. Top performers earn a place on the National Honour Roll and an invitation to the Global Round in Toronto.

How the Contest works in Australia

Schools register
Schools in Australia register through the national representative. Registrations are submitted by schools — parents should speak to their school's teacher, coordinator or principal.

Students write locally
The contest is written at the student's own school. Australia runs its own day inside the January 4 – April 5, 2027 contest window — your school confirms the exact date. Multiple choice, one mark per correct answer, no marks off for wrong answers — and no calculators.

Results & awards
Gold (top 5%), Silver (next 10%) and Bronze (next 25%) awards; 80%+ earns the National Honour Roll. Top performers are invited to the Global Round in Toronto, Canada.
